About Me 🌈
The hello’s!
My name is Alcira “Alley Cat”. I’m a Mexican-American artist, mainly working in clay. I’m out here making ceramics in the IE. I love getting my hands muddy. I love leaving my heart in the making and breathing life into the clay.
I’m inspired by family, the environment, and the community of San Bernardino. My work often changes, but one thing is for sure, my pieces are always made with the heart.
Artist Statement
My Mexican-American identity and upbringing influence my ceramics. My mugs and cups are adorned with flower patterns from fabrics that hold warm tortillas. My Veladoras are inspired by the sayings that my parents bless me with as I leave.
I view my art as a healing practice that allows me to connect with my roots, face my fears, meditate, and feel at home within myself.
